The daisies are creating little smiley faces even if the sun doesn’t shine on them very often with the rainy days. The Oxeye Daisy is another flower that was brought over from Europe and has escaped since a daisy can produce up to 26,000 seeds per plant.

The bungleweed, or carpetweed, is adding blues and purples to the ground right now. A native plant to Europe, it is sometimes considered an invasive plant in parts of North America where it has been used for ground cover and has ‘escaped’.

The calendar says the start of summer, but it isn’t a sunny summer day but a rather wet one. But there are some summer flowers out in different colors like orange, pink, yellow, white, blue and even some purple.

This old Dodge B-Series pickup (1948 to 1953) doesn’t seem to have any ‘pick up and go’ at the moment, just the way I feel sometimes on the dark, rainy days.

As I continue the ‘old’ theme week, the subject is a birthday girl who is six years old today. Now most would not consider six as being old for a cat but it is for Miss Tippy since this ‘nice’ orphan kitty that I rescued when a few days old gives me presents in the sink when she is unhappy with me. And the ‘presents’ is poop so she is running out of her nine days and may lose her home comforts as I lose my patience.

The back end of an old potato planter is a good continuation of the ‘old’ week. With the unusual wet spring, the horse drawn equipment had a better chance of getting into the field than the big tractors.

This barn caught my eye since it is quite different from the barns around my area so I had to backup to take this barn shot. Even the silo was different with the pretty stone base under the concrete stave structure.

For Mother’s Day, one often gives flowers to mom and for Father’s Day, tools or other manly things might be the preferred gifts. I wonder if this old Ford truck would work as a gift for both mom and dad since it is a manly toy with flowers!
