The end of November was a cool gray day, the typical November weather, even through the month ended up being the second warmest on record. Earlier in the month, people might have ventured out to the lake more than at the end of the month, to view places like Esrey Park on Lake Superior.

Watching the snowflakes coming down this morning, I think critters would enjoy a barn to hide in, even if it is an old one and they probably would prefer that it was summer or fall instead.

The Wisconsin River doesn’t look very impressive where it starts it winding flow coming out of Lac Vieux Desert, a lake near the border of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan but it changes in size by the time it travels 430 miles across Wisconsin and flows into the Mississippi River near Prairie du Chien.

The forecast calls for a cloudy week so there might not be a lot of sunsets to see like this early November one.

On a foggy Saturday morning, the beacon from a lighthouse might have trouble cutting the fog for someone to see. This replacement lighthouse for Copper Harbor was built in 1866.

I wasn’t one of those people rushing into stores for the Black Friday sales. The rushing of water going over a sixty-five foot waterfall is more to my liking instead.

According to what traditionally is known as “The First Thanksgiving,” the 1621 feast between the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag at Plymouth Colony contained waterfowl, wild turkey, venison, fish, lobster, clams, berries, fruit, pumpkin, and squash. Many of the foods at the first feast have become staples of the modern day Thanksgiving dinner.

Some of the birds are complaining that I haven’t cleaned the snow off the bird feeder when they do adventure out from under the snow laden pine branches but it is still snowing so it will get reburied in that cold white stuff.
First Snow
I much rather view white water and white foam from a waterfall than the white cold flakes falling down from the sky this evening. This little falls is called Bonanza Falls located near the Porcupine Mountains in Upper Michigan, which can be 100 feet wide during the spring runoff.

Several batches of kittens were enjoying the chilly sunshine today before some possible snow moves in the next two days.
