A walk through my woods had a bunch of little critters upset with me. The chipmunks were chirping and this squirrel was chattering at me since I interrupted its acorn gathering activity.
The sun never really peeked out much today for a color leaf looking Sunday drive so hopefully there will be a few sunny days to enjoy the color before the leaves are blow off the trees.
With the wind, the peek-a-boo sun and cooler temperature, a wade in the water probably would be too shocking and the lake would be better enjoyed from the shore.
The monarchs are gathering as they prepare to head south while their favorite food, the milkweed, is turning brown as the seeds begin taking their own flight in the wind.
The below average temperature makes it feel more like late season autumn than the beginning of it. The fall crops must feel the approaching winter as it seems like the soybeans and corn have turned from green to brown in a few days.
The light rain showers and the temperature hovering around 50 today was a big change from yesterday so a nature walk definitely had a chilly autumn feel with gray skies.
Above average temperatures and clear skies made a nice day for exploring the outdoors, at least once the fog finally lifted by mid-morning, to reveal more than just gray landscape.
The low dew points makes a pleasant day for hiking on the first Sunday of autumn, enabling one to enjoy some of nature’s beauty before the leaves disappears from the trees and the winter snow arrives.
