The strong winds have stripped a lot of leaves from the trees and today’s heavy rain was washing them away.

The rain overnight and today will add some more water to streams to keep the waterfalls flowing this fall as the leaves continue to fall also. Siskiwit Falls has four main drops and slides, like this small foot ledge, as the river makes its way to Lake Superior.

After several days with snowflakes flying in the air, it was nice to see the sunshine again today. Although with the cooler temperatures, a coat probably was needed if taking a walk through the woods to look at the colored leaves on the trees before they fall to the ground.

The main entrance of the Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis is a colonnaded portico with two 116-foot spires on each side. The exterior of the building was constructed between 1907-1915. The Basilica of Saint Mary was the first basilica in the United States and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

Today leaves were falling as well as snowflakes, but I rather see the colored leaves on the trees yet to enjoy more fall days and I definitely didn’t want the snow coating my lawn since I prefer to have the snow come in late December instead.
