The weather today kept changing from snow, to freezing rain, to snow pellets, to ice pellets, to sleet and back to snow again. I don’t like the icy stuff, especially in my yard and I rather only see it when it creates the ice formations along Lake Superior.

There were people do Black Friday shopping today, and the birds were doing black shopping too, or more like gathering black sunflower seeds in between snow storms.

The Thanksgiving meal for many included turkey, but the turkeys had to dig under the snow for their meal today.
Digging for Lunch
The snow dumped by the storm made today look more like the day before Christmas than the day before Thanksgiving. And it doesn’t sound like any of it will be melting before the next winter storm comes.

Ahead of the predicted snow storm, farmers were busy trying to harvest corn before the fields are buried in snow.

The squirrels must have heard the snowy forecast as they were busy eating seeds and burying nuts in my yard (which they might find later under the snow).

After the leaves have fallen, late autumn sunrises are more visible through the stark and barren trees.

It is a good thing that deer hunting comes late in November when the leaves are off the trees so that hunting and autumn color leaves hikes don’t occur at the same time. I wouldn’t mind if time turned back to early October to enjoy some sunny autumn walks again.

During the summer, deer wander slowly away from my lawn mower and they don’t feel too threatened but tomorrow they better watch out for people dressed in orange who will be hunting them with guns.

It looks like this cat got hypnotized by the snowflakes falling again this morning but at least the temperature stayed above freezing long enough to melt the snow before dropping in the afternoon.
