After multiple nights below freezing, the pretty yellow of the goldenrod is gone and now the color matches closer to the white of snow.

I think I spotted one of Lake Superior’s sea monsters this summer with extra humps, which is bigger than the other “Sessie” I found a few years ago.

I notice that the recent windy days, including today, have most of the autumn leaves off even the mighty oaks that normally hang on a little longer into the year. But with only traces of snow left, it was a nice day for walk before winter returns with more snow.

The sunshine helped melt most of the remaining snow even if the temperature only reached 35 today. This looks like an interesting place on the shore of Lake Superior for a picnic spot once I figure out how to navigate the ravine just before this point.

As autumn continues to fade away into winter, you can’t find too many colorful things but there are a few splashes of color from the berries on some shrub branches.

The cloudy, rainy, and snowy day prevented a pretty sunset or even a nice day to walk along the beach since the wind chill was in the teens all day.

What a difference a month can make. The temperature was just barely above freezing but warm enough for the precipitation to be rain and not snow for the moment. Watching water falling drop down over rapids on a warm autumn day is more enjoyable than the cold rain this afternoon that will turn to snow tonight.

Although the day barely made it up to freezing, the sun was out so a trip to the beach to watch the sunset might be something to do. This dog seems to enjoy it at the beach, but of course he is really interested in the other dogs at the beach and not the sunset.

Yesterday morning revealed icy branches sparkling in the sunlight and snow covered ground. While some of the snow melted in the afternoon sun, additional snow fell today to recoat the ground.
