The peaceful low flow of this waterfall in the fall doesn’t have the roar of the springtime run off. There was very little dripping from the snow melting in temperatures just barely above freezing today since not a spring melt.
Quiet Flow
While many people may have been in stores today exchanging gifts, I make a point to avoid stores during crowded days and I prefer a nature walk so it is too bad that the weather wasn’t warmer for a hike to less traveled waterfall, like this narrow one that twists and drops seventy feet.
End of the Drop
Growing up on the farm as a kid, sometimes we would cut our own Christmas that needed thinning from our windbreak, and besides being a Charlie Brown Christmas tree, they were magical too. Since every year they magically grew several feet taller as soon they passed through the porch door. If you waited to cut a tree here today, at least the snow would have been melted off it as instead of covered in snow earlier in the month.
