The cooler wet week felt like the end of autumn but at least the moisture was still in the form of rain and not snow so this old runner sled won’t be needed for a little while yet.

When I was mowing today, I watched a deer eat some of my fallen apples, a rabbit scampering around, a bunch of toads hopping away, a mouse darting through the long grass and a grasshopper who hitched a ride on my mower, and I also saw a lot of mushroom which popped up in the last few days. They ranged in shapes, colors and sizes in the cooler fall days.

The main sanctuary of the Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis is surrounded by statues of the Twelve Apostles and a marble baldachino stands over the altar. On top of the stone canopy is a 9 foot statue of Mary which is under the 140 foot high interior ceiling dome. It is first church in the U.S. to be elevated by papal decree to the honor and dignity of a minor basilica.

The flowers didn’t get to glow in the sun today but instead they were dripping with moisture so the hydrangeas were ‘blue’ because of the weather.

This owl must have heard about all the food at the state fair on a stick as it seemed to be licking bugs off the car antenna like it was “bugs on a stick” treat. This was before it started a staredown with me and I think the owl cheated and turned its head when it was going to blink.
