Old country schools may have extra visitors today, if they are now used as the town hall for rural townships, as people come to vote on this election day.
One advantage of a nice warm Sunday evening in November is that it makes viewing a sunset more fun when you can do so in short sleeves and not bundled up in a coat and needing gloves which are needed in the cold winter time.
The usually warm November Saturday had many people outside enjoying the nice weather. Some might have even hiked along to Presque Isle River to see the three different waterfalls, including this small one called Nawadaha Falls which drops about fifteen feet.
The late fall kittens are enjoying this nice November week as they are just starting to adventure outside and they are able to play is the green grass stalking each other before racing back inside the barn.
If I didn’t have to mow lawn on this nice November day, it would have been a great day to visit more waterfalls before they ice up. Located on the Black River in Upper Michigan, Gorge Falls, drops about 25 feet as it nears Lake Superior.
A nice treat, during this mild week in November, was spotting a tiger swallowtail butterfly flying around and briefly landing on a pine tree before continuing on its flight across the yard.
Today kids probably saw a lot of pumpkins while out trick-or-treating on Halloween. Some pumpkins may have been carved into jack-o’-lanterns or painted with faces or even dressed up like this football pumpkin fan.
The cloudy month has limited the number of sunsets visible and so on a recent trip to Upper Michigan, only one brief sunset was seen but it reflect color in the wet sand on the beach.
