The iron ore dock at Superior, Wisconsin, is very busy right now, but with loading out of one elevator only, there are three freighters waiting outside the harbor as the fourth gets loaded.

At my local fair, the livestock judging for beef is on Friday, like this Hereford class. According to history, Benjamin Tomkins was an early founder of the breed with a bull and two cows called Pidgeon and Mottle in 1742 around the area of Herefordshire, England. Herefords were imported to the United States about 1817 by the politician Henry Clay.

I have only been seeing one turkey wandering around in my yard lately and so far I haven’t seen a hen with babies, so my one turkey better get eating my wood ticks as there has been too many ticks this season. Under the right conditions, an adult turkey can eat 200 or more ticks in a day, but my turkey must be lazy as the tick population doesn’t seem to be declining this season.
