The sunshine made a great day for a hike through along the lake shore, especially since the temperatures reached the mid 60s which is above average for a November day.
With the day starting below freezing, the beaches might be empty of people but there was evidence of some living things out and about by the tracks on the sand.
Now that Halloween is over, these turkeys better watch out so they don’t end up as the main guest at the dinner table. The one turkey is trying to get some red berries to go with the supper.
There are a few flowers left to see, even as a few more snowflakes floated by again today. The hardy white daisies, the yellow of the butter & eggs and the purple asters add a little yet as the season moves towards winter. And the insects are making use of those late blossoms.
With some snow pellets swirling around the sky today and the strong winds, the first day of November felt more like the end of month. Critters might appreciate a warm, cozy barn to stay out of the elements.
Even in the gray day, the fallen leaves looked a little brighter from a coating of rain. This poor leaf looked like someone was creating paint samples on it.
