The turkeys, while mostly absent during the summer months, have been spotted very frequently now as they have been wandering through my yard and roosting in my trees again. These turkeys stopped long enough to do a little preening.
After the fog lifted, there was some nice sunshine in the morning hours to enjoy an autumn walk in the woods before the clouds rolled back in by late afternoon.
The leaves that have fallen on my lawn are damp from the late evening rain showers, but some of these leaves are wet from the mist of the river cascades.
Some of the apple trees have already been picked while others are waiting to be harvested in local orchards. I was picking apples today but didn’t get finished so there are still some apples hanging on the trees yet.
The burning bush looks like it is throwing off some heat and with a temperature in the low 80s, it was a warm late September day. The critters should enjoy these nice autumn days before weather turns colder.
The wool coat would have felt good the other morning, but it is not needed on this nice afternoon. Although all too soon, the wool coat will be a blessing as the cool fall and colder winter days approach.
