The new year is just around the corner and the “old” year has just about completed its journey. For some, the past year was a difficult one with the forces of nature destroying homes and lives. This barn weathered nature for years but in the end, it lost the battle and will no longer be able to stand tall in the coming year and soon all its former existence will fade from the landscape.
The End
The barn sure looks sad.
I believe this is the barn that is right next to my brother and sister-n-law’s place near Spring Valley. The barn sat approximately 300 feet or less from their house. They wanted to purchase the barn and small chunk of land it was on to preserve it. However the owner refused!?! It was a small, cute barn with a half moon window at the top, had this ribbon look trim that accented the loft from the first floor, and had a field stone foundation around it. If you could verify the address of the pic you took above, I would greatly appreciate it and would be interested in purchasing a couple of pictures. It’s too bad we didn’t think to contact someone like yourself to take a picture of it before it fell!! Your pictures are wonderful, and capture such uniqueness! Thank you!
