With Father’s Day occurring in the summer, one of the activities for the day may be taking the family to the beach. And it appears that applies to the feathered families too, like this family of geese.
The beaches on Lake Superior in February are normally don’t have much traffic, but with most of the snow and ice gone, the birds are able to leave tracks in the sand.
I have been on Lake Superior ice a few times, but I wouldn’t walk on this ice with open water like some people were doing. The water is rather chilly if I would break through the ice even if the water is not real deep by shore.
