I wish I was up to a beach on Lake Superior today when the temperature was in the mid fifties, but instead I walked to my pond which was still frozen over even with a few days above freezing.
The sunshine today did not feel very warm with the winds gusting over 40 mph that caused ripples on a little creek so I imagine there were some waves on the bigger lakes.
After some cold days, today was in the low 60s so great day for some outdoor activities like getting the yard ready for the coming snow or to sneak off and enjoy the lake.
While today was chilly with the high only 45 degrees and places in Wisconsin had some snow, the winds were calmer than yesterday’s strong gusts which created some different white in the form of waves on Lake Superior.
Although it didn’t quite reach 70 degrees along the shore of Lake Superior today, the wind was lighter so serious rock hunters could wander out into the water looking for the perfect agate.
The winds were gusting more than 30 mph today around Devils Island in the Apostle Islands causing some waves on Lake Superior. Other times the waves roll in at the Herbster Beach as people wander along the beach.
Although it was a chilly day when I was at the beach watching the white waves roll in, it was better than seeing the white frost coating the surfaces this morning.
At least the white I spotted on the beach last week was an interesting rock and not frost but there is a freeze warning out tonight so there could be that white frost again in the morning.
