The day was sunny but with the low sun angle, the frost on the ground remained in the shaded areas even late into the afternoon so a trip to the beach might be a bit chilly for swimming suits.
Although the day barely made it up to freezing, the sun was out so a trip to the beach to watch the sunset might be something to do. This dog seems to enjoy it at the beach, but of course he is really interested in the other dogs at the beach and not the sunset.
I remember as a kid, drawing large circles using a nail, string and pencil. But if you didn’t hold the pencil straight, the circle may not have been perfect. Mother Nature has a bent stem of grass creating a circle when the wind blows.
The morning sky looked rather eerie when it was sleeting as it had a weird color to it before the ice switched back over to snow. I don’t like looking at winter when it should be autumn yet and the white I want to see are whitecaps and bleached driftwood on a Lake Superior beach.
When walking on a beach, it is fun to imagine what an interesting piece of driftwood looks like, sort of like finding things in clouds. This one looks like a moose head where his antler broke off.
The end of September brings the sun setting almost an hour earlier than the beginning of the month and the sunset will continue getting earlier for several more months. The waters of Lake Superior will get colder and the sun may glow off of ice instead of water.
