With the hot temperatures today, spending time on the cool waters of Lake Superior might be a way to get some relief, but I would be too chicken to take this little boat out the big lake.
The roads were filled with campers and boats heading to the lake today. There is a last push for summer adventures this weekend as school starts for some next week.
There were people out fishing today on this hot holiday Sunday, although it might have been cooler to be in the water than on the water. I don’t know how many fish these guys caught but the osprey has a large mouth bass in its claws.
The holiday day started out cloudy and windy but people were still lined up for boat cruises to celebrate the day and the un-official end of summer. A lighthouse and sea caves are big attractions of Devils Island of the Apostle Islands of northern Wisconsin.
Fridays during the summer months means it is fishing time, even if it is just a few hours after work which may carry into the weekend for more lake time.
This is a cute little boat, although to me it seems too small to be Lake Superior so hopefully this dinghy doesn’t have to venture too far out in the big body of water.
Although it was above freezing today, it felt cold with the wind so it wasn’t a day to go boating on a Sunday afternoon, especially since many of the boats are still frozen in ice.
