The flowers looked in better shape before the storms pounded them with rain and wind. This clematis adds a splash of color against the green lawn.

The sunshine melted some of the roads and even some hints of ground was showing where the plows scraped along the road shoulders. Green foliage and purple blossoms won’t be seen for a while especially with another snow storm coming tomorrow.

As the autumn colors begin showing on the trees, the flowers are slowly disappearing with only a few varieties still blooming in the shortening days but they add some contrasting colors from asters and clematis. And with over 300 species of clematis, there is a range color displayed like these pink ones.

It seems most of the summer flowers are orange, yellow or white but there are some other colors the bull thistle reddish pink blossom as well as some prettier purple flowers.

Farmers are busy putting up hay during the dry days and even the flowers seem to be enjoying the sunny days instead of having their colors washed out. I wonder if there are any birds nesting in the rustic birdhouse.
