The neighborhood was filled with machinery sounds the last few days from combines harvesting soybeans and corn and tractors picking corn as farmers try to get the crops in before the rain moves back in.

The corn fields are enjoying a sunny summer day after the rains earlier in the week. And more summer days are needed before a killing frost, especially for the farmers who were delayed in planting because of the wet spring.
