The snow glories popping up on my lawn might not be covered in snow like some years, but they sure got wet this evening and some of them might even have been burnt from the frequent lightning strikes.
The wind was blowing stuff around today, like the empty sunflower hulls and snow, but I would rather see some dancing flowers waving around in the strong breeze instead.
It was another gray day, with even a light coating of snow overnight, so it wasn’t a bright or colorful Sunday. It will be six months before these sunny flowers provide some bright yellow in my yard.
The sun was hidden by clouds all day and flowers are not blooming in the early winter time to provide any “sunny” color today so have to dream of summer instead.
There was several patches of the sunny Black-eyed Susans displaying brightly in the sunshine as I mowed past them today. They are late summer plants, blooming from late July until the first frost.
