The trees which had shook the snow from their limbs yesterday where coated again in white from the frost this morning. The sun later in the day melted some of the frost but the landscape still remained rather white.
It was another gray day but the trees had a white coating of frost this morning and without the sun or much wind, the frost remained on the branches when it started to snow this afternoon.
The temperature at the nearest airport early this morning was -5, but my thermometers said it stayed above zero at least. But the trees were coated in frost, at least until the sun melted the white stuff off the limbs.
When I was on the road this morning, there were pockets of light frost on the trees, although not the heavy or real pointy white stuff, but some frost form since the night wasn’t so frigid finally.
The rain and above freezing temperatures today removed the white decorations from the trees so Christmas morning might not be so white, but the weather changes frequently and the forecast has some white snow decoration coming later in the day.
I preferred yesterday’s frosty flakes than the ice and snow today. These hoarfrost flakes were larger than other times and had wonderful patterns when viewed up close.
