For many, the weekend means a day off from work, but for farmers there is no day off if there is hay to bale. The watchful yellow smiley face is waiting for the raked field in front of it to be baled up.

While many enjoyed the day off during this holiday, there are always some who have to ‘labor’ on this Labor Day, like the clerks working at the gas station when I filled up with fuel today and those employed at other business still open during the holiday. Farmers often work during the holiday, especially if it is a dry day to get the hay baled.

The hay fields had a lot of activity yesterday as farmers raced to get the hay baled before the rain moved in today, and this field, filled with round hay bales, which beat the storm clouds.
