The kitten almost looks a bit frighten, like it was hearing some gunfire from Veterans Day activities, but the kitten was really just getting ready to pounce on the next victim who ventured in range.

One of the younger batches of kittens at the farm have been wandering far from the barn and following their mother to the house. They have been getting under foot as they look for more attention as they are at the cute and playful stage.

Some of the kittens in the barn haven’t become friendly pests yet and they keep their distance as they keep a sharp eye on my movements. This kitten watches me with two different eye colors, one lighter and one darker, as it perches in a tub.

Watchful Eyes

The warmer days allow the cats and kittens to play outside instead of hiding out in the barns, but of course that also means that more stray cats are visiting my place and causing all kinds of trouble like getting locked in my garage and knocking my lumber down as well as creating other messes.

I checked out the pussy willows today looking for a sign of spring, but the little pussy toes or catkins, were still hiding so spring isn’t peeking out like this little kitten is.

This kitten must have heard it was going to get an extra hour of sleep tonight and didn’t want to miss out on it and started getting ready for the long nap early in the afternoon.

It was back to work after the holiday and even this kitten was hard at ‘work’ waiting to pounce on one of her siblings. But she needed to stay close to the barn this afternoon to stay out of the rain showers.
