This weekend is the “Old Time Farm Fest” presented by the Moon Lake Threshermen’s Association which has displays of antique tractors, cars, and trucks as well as demonstrations of the old equipment being used like this steam engine using long belts to power the threshing machine.

Not sure if this old truck is working at the start of the week or if it is retired. The tires look good and it has a load on back, but no one in sight. Unless someone forgot to fill the gas tank and had to walk back home from the field.

I don’t think this old tow truck will be pulling anyone out of the ditch during this snow storm as it appears its working days are over as I’m not even sure the red light on top works anymore plus the snow would blow right through the cab.

Before the ground freezes up, one task is to clean up anything off the ground which might be frozen into the mud until spring. So it is a good time to get the scrap metal hauled off and this truck load looks like it has a metal robot sitting down.

Many of the area townships have garage and recycling hours on Saturdays so you could see trucks loaded with trash traveling on the roads, although one like this truck would probably be headed for a metal scrap yard instead. This truck is actually a sculpture by John Himmelfarb titled “Remains” where most of the pieces came from L & M Salvage.

The cargo is pretty and colorful but the driver and extra passengers don’t look too friendly in (and on) this old Studebaker truck. The truck definitely has seen more years than I have as it might be a 1949 model.

You might want to close the window if you were driving this old vehicle today, otherwise you could get a wee bit chilly with below zero wind chills and blowing snow. The back end seems like it might be a little low to the ground to get over the snow drifts but I imagine, what appears to be a 1951 Ford Panel van, was quite the vehicle its glory days.
