Sometimes after a rain storm, if the sun peeks out while there is still some rain and mist in the air, a patch of color in the form of a rainbow can be spotted. Although this double rainbow appears chopped off by the storm clouds.

The sun disappeared very early in the day but it did peek out very briefly near sunset just long enough for a rainbow to shine in the sky.

Although it rain today, no rainbows appeared in the sky. Sometimes I get water drops on camera lens when trying to capture a rainbow and a wet shirt too.

The ground was wet today, where the snow had melted but many areas on my lawn still had snow covering the ground. And wet conditions were not accompanied by a rainbow in the sky but instead it was a dark and dreary Sunday in late October.

This Sunday brought springtime thunderstorms with rolling thunder and lightning, but the sun didn’t peek out during the rain to create a rainbow.

At least when it is cloudy and raining in the summer, there might be a chance to see a rainbow. Cloudy and snowing in the winter doesn’t give you any color in the sky.

The one bonus after getting wet from sprinkles on a cloudy day, is when the sun peaks out long enough to create a rainbow especially in a beautiful scenic spot.
Rainbow Over Lake of the Clouds
When the rainbow appeared the other night, it was bright and colorful before it faded but when it reappeared a few minutes later, the sun was setting and creating a pink hue on the clouds. The rainbow also picked up the pink color, obscuring the normal range of colors and created a pink arc in the sky as the sun slipped below the horizon.

A brief moment of sun through the storm clouds allowed a rainbow to form in the sky but it didn’t last long so I didn’t get to the pond in time to catch the reflection in the water. I might have reached my destination if I didn’t have to stop so many times to wipe the raindrops off the camera lens but at least the camera stayed drier than I did as the storm continued to rumble and released another downpour.

Yesterday I posted a barn door, so I thought today I should post the full barn with all of its doors where the farmer has gone in and out for years. And I wonder how many critters have escaped through unlatched doors.
