As winter approaches, many fisherman are enjoying these last warm autumn days for fishing outings before the water starts to ice up.
Autumn Fishing Trips
Yesterday the clouds and river had some gentle swirls midday as people enjoyed the St. Croix River in kayaks, canoes and boats before the storms moved in later in the day. The little speck of orange from a kayak looks tiny against the rock cliffs where walls in the Dalles area rise from 50 to 250 feet above the river.
Enjoying the St. Croix River
Some people might take to the water to cool off on this hot Saturday with heat indexes near 100, but they would probably want something more calm than this swift moving river as it might be a rough and bumpy ride with the rock banks. Some areas might have a rough and bumpy night when the predicted storms roll in this evening.
