Years and years of high water flowing in the river channel has created an interesting pattern in the rock wall.

Many may be trying to get some outdoor activities done, like a nature hike, today and tomorrow before the excessive heat rolls in for the rest of the week. A place to enjoy seven miles of hiking trails, along with native flowers in the prairie restoration areas and a variety of crops, is at the Pope Farm Conservancy, just west of Madison, Wisconsin. A stone wall made with rocks left by the glacier, built in the 1840s and 1850s, line one of the trails for a distance as it rises to the top of a recessional moraine, which provides a beautiful view of the surrounding area.
Nature Walk on a Sunny Day
Last evening I headed for a little creek where some little blue flowers called Forget-me-nots were blooming. But I was sidetracked with all the other wonderful things to see, including fish swimming in the clear water and this rock wall, and so the sun disappeared before I got many of the flower pictures. They are very small blue flowers and you can just barely see some in the lower left corner of the picture.
The Forget-me-nots are one flower where a close up shot is needed to see the tiny blossoms but they sure were pretty lining the creek sides. In a German legend, God named all the plants when a tiny unnamed one cried out, “Forget-me-not, O Lord!” God replied, “That shall be your name.”
