I have had trouble with critters getting into places where they shouldn’t be and I noticed squirrel tracks going under my shed. And for a moment, I thought the squirrels had tunneled inside my shed and were roasting chestnuts on an open fire. But there wasn’t a fire in my building as it was just the glare of the setting sun reflecting off the window.
Fire Window
The snow drifts are making it hard to get around and they are blocking access to areas and buildings. With the snow falling again today, soon you wouldn’t know what color this shed is as it will be completely covered by snow.
Disappearing Red
Taking some back roads might force you to slow down since you can’t drive as fast as on an interstate highway, but you can spot more wildlife and other interesting things while traveling at the slower pace.

Day might have started off with breakfast in bed for some mothers on this Mother’s Day. Flowers and other gifts may be waiting as surprise or a nice dinner out. Some may take a slow Sunday drive through the country side to view the pretty blossoms of the trees which recently opened in the last few days.

These old doors might not stop all the blowing wind and the colder temperatures, but at they offer some shelter for the winter which refuses to yield for spring.

This old shed has been patched a few times in the past but it still may let some wind blow through the cracks especially in blizzard conditions although it would provide some shelter behind the wooden walls.

Seasons have come and gone many times for this old shed and I wondered what prized possessions the building had sheltered over the years and if it was a favorite place for children to play in on a rainy day.

Summer storms, especially tornadoes, are not a welcome event when it causes a lot of damage, but with this large tree blown down, I was able to spot this shed from the road which was hidden before.
Grey Shed
You never know what you might find on a winding road, especially on a Wisconsin Rustic Road. This year is the 40 year anniversary of Wisconsin’s Rustic Roads program which have roads with outstanding natural features along its borders such as rugged terrain, native vegetation, native wildlife, or include open areas with agricultural vistas which singly or in combination uniquely set it apart from other roads.
I have a lot of miles to travel to cover all the Rustic Roads since there are 115 designated Rustic Roads spanning more than 665 miles through 59 counties.
