It definitely did not look like spring this morning as the heavy snow weighted down the tree branches and some limbs snapped off. The snow was around fifteen inches in the backyard when I went to clear the snow off the bird feeders.
People hiking to Lost Creek this weekend might spot the green ferns that I saw last week. It seemed strange to see the patches of green plants growing in the snow covered ground.
The warmer days again has melted the snow except for some patches in the ditches and on the surface of my pond. It looks more like November than the end of January.
The major portion of the snow storm missed here, but it did leave a couple of inches of snow to cover the ground and the strong winds made patterns in the new snow.
