Last week there was no snow in the forecast, but that didn’t hold as the snow fell today. And with a cold week below freezing, it won’t be melting for a while.
The wind was blowing the new snow today and it has snowed on the poor robin’s tails more than three times so it is time for spring but the forecast doesn’t have any warm temperatures in the coming week.
Pretty big white fluffy snowflakes fell this morning. Well they might have been pretty if it was December and not March as I didn’t care to clear several inches of snow off my car when some years the white blossoms of wildflowers can be found in March.
The new snow covered up most of the hints of green from the pine trees and the only color was when a cardinal landed on the snow laden branches waiting his turn at the bird feeder.
The day started out cloudy but at least the snow storm stayed to the north most of day and waited until this evening to drop some snowflakes from the sky.
Taking a winter walk on a Sunday afternoon might have been the activity for some today since the temperature finally got above freezing and even 40 for a few hours. The packed trail will likely be covered over and hidden in the new snow predicted for the next two days.
