The new snow that fell overnight was coated in a thick layer of ice. The ground looked like a great big ice skating rink. And the icy tree limbs were catching the glow from the late afternoon sun.
Ice After the Snow
The hoarfrost might not have adhered to the pine trees compared to the other trees the other morning, but snow from last night piled on the pine branches. The limbs were weighted down from the 14 inches of that white stuff and you didn’t want to be standing under one of those branches when the wind dislodged the snow.
