Although the ground was white with frost this morning, some ‘flowers’ or weeds were still blooming in the chilly sunshine. Course this sow thistle in my flower bed this fall shows I didn’t do a good job of weeding this summer.

There is white stuff blowing around but it isn’t the white fluff from sow thistle blossom carrying weed seeds around, but just cold snow flakes.

It always amazes me how well weeds can grow in a drought. The grass didn’t grow but the sow thistle grew tall enough to reach the bird house.
