There are chances of thunderstorms today and you can see them coming across the lake easier than where there are trees and houses in the way. This storm looks like there is a funnel cloud forming so might be a nasty storm.
The evening rumbled as a storm rolled in and the thunderhead cloud climbed so high my camera couldn’t capture the top of it. But for all the noise and eerie sky, the storm skirted just to the north and didn’t get a drop of rain.
The new snow was blowing around in the 50 mph plus winds this afternoon causing white-outs. And with another wind chill advisory for tonight, I rather see white clouds racing across the sky on a summer day than blowing snow.
On open water, you can see storms off in a distance as well as the ones about ready to rain on your head. The sun rays are poking through around the individual thunderheads.
Thunderstorms have been rolling through the state last night and this evening too. And some have rotational spins prompting tornado warnings. This storm had a cloud drop down with a slight spin so I was glad it was far enough away from me.
The sky looked rather eerie as a storm front approached from the north and it did drop more than a half inch of rain in a short time besides adding some thunder rumble from the lightning.
Storms woke me in the middle of the night and then later more storms rolled through the evening. The rumble from the approaching thunderstorm could be heard miles away but then afterward the storm, a rainbow appeared.
