Picture of the Day for March 12, 2017

A few days ago, Tippy, the star of my children’s book died. Every cat has a different personality and I think Tippy’s was warped from birth when a dog carried her around in its mouth. She wanted to be close to me, but not cuddly even though I bottled fed her when she was only eight days old. She didn’t like it when I was gone overnight or if I locked her out of the den so I could work in peace and she showed her displeasure by pooping in my bathroom sink!

Today is Tippy’s birthday, a cat I raised on a bottle and was the star of my children’s book. She turns seven today but she is not a happy birthday girl since after my other house cat died, I figure she could use some company of other cats and put her in the small house with a fenced in run. Well she is not happy with the new accommodations at all and is now a snarly, hissing cat.

As I continue the ‘old’ theme week, the subject is a birthday girl who is six years old today. Now most would not consider six as being old for a cat but it is for Miss Tippy since this ‘nice’ orphan kitty that I rescued when a few days old gives me presents in the sink when she is unhappy with me. And the ‘presents’ is poop so she is running out of her nine days and may lose her home comforts as I lose my patience.

Tabby Cat

This naughty cat was the subject of children book I wrote a year ago so that is her only saving grace.

Picture of the Day for February 1, 2013

Today is National Freedom Day, an observance in the United States that honors the signing of a resolution that proposed the 13th amendment of the nation’s constitution on February 1, 1865. Abraham Lincoln, who was the president at the time, signed the resolution to outlaw slavery. The Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, ratified on December 18, 1865, outlaws slavery and involuntary servitude.

But apparently that amendment does not apply to people who have cats, since humans are cats slaves! And they can be rather demanding and forcing us into involuntary servitude if you don’t want to get clawed up.

It is hard to work on the computer when the ‘master’ is around, blocking my view to the monitor or sitting on the mouse. Apparently Tippy wanted to make sure I was editing a picture of herself to be in the next children’s book. She will be rather disappointed when she finds out that she is not the star in the next book!
