The beaver bit off a little more than he could chew, but he weaken the tree enough that the park service had to cut it down. I wonder if the beaver got some of the branches when they cut the tree down.
With a forecast predicting three different waves of snow during the next several days, I think this poor tree will remain highlighted in white instead of green leaves.
With the temperature finally above freezing again, the ice was dropping off the tree limbs so they are no longer sparkling in the sunlight like earlier in the week.
The sun made it appearance for a few hours in the morning to highlight the new frost that formed overnight. If you were under the branches when the wind picked up, you could think it was actually snowing as the frost fell.
