This large fallen tree in the river bed has some interesting weird bumps and growths on it plus the moss seems to like it too.

I wonder if this is Winnie the Pooh’s tree in the Hundred Acre Wood. Or it is a very sleepy tree with a big yawn as it looks it has eyes above the mouth.

Part of my lawn was covered in white, but at least the white color isn’t from snow. As the quaking aspen female catkin mature, they release lots of tiny cottony seeds which blow in the wind.

Earth Day activities include many things like cleaning up trash from waterways, planting wildflowers that support pollinators, or just taking a walk to enjoy the beauty of nature. I planted some wildflower seeds today but didn’t get to the trash that ended up in the ditch yet. At least this creek didn’t have any cans or bottles floating in it.

An odd formation on the side of a large oak creates an interesting texture to look at. And I wonder at the history of what caused that formation like maybe a deer rubbing his anthers on the tree, breaking off a limb eighty years ago.
