This late Saturday in October reached the 70s so it was a great day to get some last minute yardwork done or to hike some trails at a park to view the last of the autumn colors.
After some cold days, today was in the low 60s so great day for some outdoor activities like getting the yard ready for the coming snow or to sneak off and enjoy the lake.
There are a few bright colorful autumn leaves yet, but they are harder to find as the season is past peak in many counties in the state already, so the green and red leaf color combination will have to been seen next season.
Bumblebees crawl deep into the blossoms of the turtleheads and the blossom closes and hides the bees from view until they back out of the flower, but they might want to stay wrapped in the petals during the past several frozen mornings.
The dog looks as sad as I am that the leaves are falling off the trees with a morning that was chilly 20 degree and stayed in the thirties most of the day.
Instead of hiking the trails this Sunday, a trip in a vehicle with the heat on may be a better way to view the autumn colors since the wind chill was barely above freezing most of the day.
