The autumn colors are peaking in the southern part of the state but in the northern counties, autumn is past the color peak and many leaves have found a new home on the ground so memories and pictures have to be the visual reminders until next year’s autumn display.

The strong winds have stripped a lot of leaves from the trees and today’s heavy rain was washing them away.

The warm fall sun on a Sunday allowed some weekend outdoor adventures, if you didn’t have to be raking up leaves or other outdoors projects. And since it is a 3 mile round trip hike to visit this waterfall, you want to stay and savor every minute possible before taking your leave of this piece of nature.

Although the morning was rainy, the sun appeared in the afternoon to allow some outdoor adventures on an autumn weekend like a hike through the woods to see a waterfall.

The appearance of the sun allowed the autumn colors to really pop out against the blue sky.

Although it was another cloudy day, the autumn colors still managed to display a range of leaf pigments in the gray weather.

After several days with snowflakes flying in the air, it was nice to see the sunshine again today. Although with the cooler temperatures, a coat probably was needed if taking a walk through the woods to look at the colored leaves on the trees before they fall to the ground.

Today leaves were falling as well as snowflakes, but I rather see the colored leaves on the trees yet to enjoy more fall days and I definitely didn’t want the snow coating my lawn since I prefer to have the snow come in late December instead.
Fallen Colors
After a rainy week, it was nice to see the sun out and allowed some fall leaf peeping adventures although the soggy ground made it tricky for walks in the woods so viewing from the roadways may have been the preferred outing.
Autumn Road Trip
After several rainy days, it was nice to see a break in the clouds just after sunrise to allow the sun to highlight the colorful autumn maple leaves.
