The trees are full of frost this morning and they look pretty but up close, the frost looks a little less pretty and not so friendly.
Sunday Morning Frost
The old father time image often comes to mind when the year comes to a close. This pine pine might not be the father time image, but it sure has turned white like father time’s hair. The pine tree looks like a space creature from the original Star Trek series and looks worn out and old with the white frost covering it.
Tree Space Monster
The slightly warmer day (still below freezing) but above zero, was very foggy and with mist in the air, the trees and many objects were coated in frost. It always amazes me how the frost can build ten times or more in thickness than the object or limb it is forming on. It looks like rigid ice but if you bump the branch, the frost quickly falls off and the photo opportunity disappears until the next frosty winter day.
Frosted Branch
When I looked outside this morning, the ground was white but at least it was only frost and since it was clear enough to form frost, you knew the sun would be up soon to melt the frost away. Tomorrow could be white with snow so I will take the frost instead of snow even if the frost probably felt heavy on the fallen leaves.
