Last evening when the sun had already set, but with some hint of pink remaining, a horse was racing across the snow covered field enjoying himself. This morning with a cloudy sky, a group of horses were just just standing around so apparently they need the sun to charge them up too as they weren’t running around.

The snow covered ground looks perfect for a sleigh ride but it is a good thing the snow has been melting the last couple of days otherwise the snow might be too deep for this little one to pull a sleigh.

On a hot day, the Black-eyed Susans still gave off a warm, glowing look even as the sun was setting.

This 1893 Light Concord Stagecoach didn’t come equipped with air-conditioning so it would have been a hot ride when the temperatures hover around 100. Developed by J. Stephen Abbot and Lewis Downing in 1827, the Concord stagecoach was built for use in rugged terrain and on long-distance hauls.
Leather thoroughbraces act like shock absorbers which suspend passengers who are in constant motion while the stagecoach is moving and allow the stagecoach to travel over very rough roads.

The county fairs are starting up for the season so kids and adults are getting their fair projects ready, including their animals like horses and ponies.

This horse was enjoying the new grass, even if was raining a bit yesterday, but today it would have enjoyed some nice sunshine instead.

I think this horse was happier yesterday in the sunshine eating the new spring grass than today in the damp, drizzly wet weather.

Traveling only a few feet, you can see large tractors working the fields for spring planting and on next farm the Amish are planting as my grandfather did before getting his first tractor.

New birth is one sign of spring and early summer, from baby lambs, calves, piglets, kittens, birds and even foals, like this young one staying close to mommy’s side in the pasture.

I saw a group of horses yesterday that appeared to be as sick of the snow as I am and I bet they would like green pastures soon instead of the snow that is on its way this afternoon!
