The morning started with pointy frost clinging to things, including this maple leaf still trying hanging onto autumn even if by afternoon, the leaf was weighted down with snow.
A month ago, this river was sweeping away the colorful maple leaves. And while it is still flowing today and isn’t frozen over like my pond is, there are not too many maple leaves for it to carry downstream anymore.
Although I didn’t have to shovel snow this morning, the s word is in the forecast and some snowflakes are falling right now but I rather see some autumn leaves falling on a warmer day.
In seems like a blink of an eye, the colorful maple leaves disappear and end up on the ground leaving bare limbs until spring returns after a long winter.
