The very strong winds today stripped many of the remaining leaves off the trees, although most of the new fallen leaves are brownish oak leaves and not the colorful maple ones.

The maple leaves are often have the most vibrant colors among the other tree varieties during the autumn color change.

In parts of my lawn, I mowed more fallen leaves than grass today but they were mostly ash leaves which were brown with just a hint of yellow. It is the maple leaves provide a lot of the orange and red autumn colors.

There are a few bright colorful autumn leaves yet, but they are harder to find as the season is past peak in many counties in the state already, so the green and red leaf color combination will have to been seen next season.

With the day almost reaching 80, it was a nice day to enjoy the autumn colors before the storm front comes through and bringing days with highs in the 40s instead. Although the strong winds are causing a lot of the colorful leaves come off the trees already.

After a couple days of the snow covering the lawn, I rather rewind time a week and see the carpet of pretty leaves instead.

The unseasonal warm day provided another great day to enjoy the outdoors and the autumn colors.

The strong winds as the storm front approached shook loose a lot of the autumn leaves  which formed a colorful carpet on the forest floor.
