Color turning on some of the leaves provide a reminder that autumn is approaching but with the heat today, it still felt like summer and the refreshing mist from a rushing river was a welcome relief.
Rushing Presque Isle River
Recreation on a river means different things to people as some prefer kayaking, fishing, swimming, boating, wading or just enjoying and photographing the view from shore. The west channel of the Presque Isle River is a little more wild with the rapids and pot holes carved out in the rock bed.
Photographing the River
Downstream from the Manabezho Falls is a series of rapids as the Presque Isle River divides into two swifter and narrower channels that cut deeply into the underlying bedrock before it empties into Lake Superior. In lower levels, you can walk across the rocky river bed and see the calmer water on the east channel.
