The fast flowing water and warm temperatures have melted the ice on the river, although my pond still remains frozen.

The rain yesterday melted some snow and water was running in ditches and eventually flowed into creeks and rivers, but the below freezing temperature today is putting an ice layer back on the water.

Some of the rivers are flowing with white although not white foam, but chunks of ice instead. And at times they cause an ice jam which causes even more flooding, but in a few months the scene will look different.

It sounded like rain this afternoon with the melting snow dripping off my roof creating a deep cut to the ground in the four foot snow bank. Water does have the power to cut through even rock, although it might take a little longer than cutting through my snow banks. My snow bank cut wasn’t as impressive as the slice in this rock.
