I guess I shouldn’t have complained about the cold, sunny day yesterday since it was cloudy today and even colder with a few snow flakes in the air too. The drab day increases the desire for spring and colorful wildflowers.

Splash of Blue and Pink

Winter hasn’t officially started, at least by the calendar, but I am already looking forward to spring and some color besides white.

Dreaming of Spring

One spring wildflower that stands taller than many of the early spring ones, are the Virginia bluebells as they wave their trumpet shaped flower above the forest floor. The pink buds turn to a deep blue color as the blossom ages and are a welcome sight to spot in the early spring even if they don’t last long.
